Kellyman is the second talented youngster to swap Villa Park for Stamford Bridge after Carney Chukwuemeka made the same move back in 2022.

With his move to Chelsea now made official, Kellyman couldn’t hide his delight and now can’t wait to get started with the Blues.

“It is fantastic to be standing here as a Chelsea player,” he told the club’s official website.

“It’s a massive club with an amazing history, so it is great to join.

“It is a dream come true for sure. I’m buzzing to have put on the shirt and can’t wait to get started.”

Kellyman joined Villa from Derby in 2022 having spent ten years with the Rams, and the attacking midfielder got his break in the Villa first team last season under Unai Emery.

The teenager made six appearances in all competitions last season, and was viewed as one of the stand out performers in Villa’s academy.

Quite what the plan for Kellyman is at Chelsea remains to be seen, but he will have the chance to impress new boss Enzo Maresca on the club’s pre-season tour of America at the end of July, before a decision will be taken on whether he will be part of the first team squad next season.

The Blues are looking to conclude a deal for Leicester midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall over the weekend, and have been strongly linked with Lille striker Jonathan David recently.
