“It will be really exciting” – New 196cm signing looking forward to first game at Stamford Bridge

Tosin Adarabioyo has revealed he’s really excited about playing at Stamford Bridge for the first time in front of the Chelsea supporters against Inter Milan.

Adarabioyo was Chelsea’s first summer signing and joined on a free transfer from neighbours Fulham to help bolster the club’s defensive ranks.

The 26-year-old will has Premier League experience and leadership qualities, whilst he will also bring some height to the backline which should help in both boxes from set pieces.

The former Fulham man is currently in America on Chelsea’s pre-season tour and has featured against both Wrexham and Celtic playing 45 mins in each game.

The Blues still have three games left of their tour against Club America, Manchester City and Real Madrid, before a game at Stamford Bridge against Italian champions Inter Milan.

The game against Inter represents the first chance for Adarabioyo to step out at Stamford Bridge as a Chelsea player, something he said he’s really excited about.

“It will be really exciting,” he told Chelsea’s website.

“Stepping out at our home stadium in front of the home supporters will be great and hopefully, we’ll be able to get a positive result going into the season. It will be a big game against the Italian champions.

“Everything between now and the start of the season is about preparing for that first league game at Stamford Bridge so everything is fully focused on that.”

Adarabioyo is no stranger to Stamford Bridge and actually made his senior debut at the ground in an FA Cup tie against the Blues in 2016 when he was a Manchester City player.

It remains to be seen how big a role the defender will have next season, and he faces a difficult task to become part of Chelsea’s first choice defensive pairing given the quality at the club.

However, with the amount of games the Blues are likely to have this season and their injury record, Adarabioyo should get plenty of opportunities to impress, and it’s up to him to take them.
