£14m teenager set to fly to London on Sunday to complete Chelsea move

Argentine teenager Aaron Anselmino will travel to England on Sunday to undergo his Chelsea medical ahead of his move to Stamford Bridge according to reports.

Anselmino is set to become the latest signing from South America, with the new owners targeting the continent as they look to unearth the best talent from around the world.

The Blues, who are currently in America on their pre-season tour drew their first game against Wrexham, and will be hoping for a better result and performance against Celtic on Saturday.

Anselmino will travel to London on Sunday

Chelsea have been busy this summer with seven new faces arriving and they are also very close to completing a deal for Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen.

Anselmino’s move to west London has been in the pipeline for a while and appeared to have a hit delay, but he’s now set to complete his move.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has confirmed the 19-year-old will travel to London on Sunday to undergo his medical, beofre returning to Boca Juniors training on Thursday.

He took to X.com and said:

“Aaron Anselmino will travel to England on Sunday to undergo his Chelsea medical, per @estoesboca_ok.”

Chelsea are believed to have agreed a fee of around £14m for the defender, who is expected to return to Boca on loan until January as part of the deal.

The teenager came through the ranks at Boca and has made 10 appearances for the first team, and only signed a contract until 2028 in January.

It’s likely that once Anselmino links up with the Blues he will then be loaned out to French side Strasbourg to continue his development, so it could be a number of years until he’s seen in a Chelsea shirt.

Another year or possibly two on loan makes sense given the options Chelsea have at centre back, and it appears the Argentine will face a tough task trying to break into the first team.
