Chelsea are reportedly ‘still there’ for one player who absolutely lit up the Euros this summer amidst noise that Barcelona struggle to get a deal done to sign him.
It looked like this one had been dead and buried, but just like with Victor Osimhen with that noise starting up again recently, so is this noise.

Nico Williams to Barcelona seemed a dead cert to happen this summer, and of course it still has every chance of happening. But right now it looks like the La Liga giants are struggling to get it done.
And our resident insider Simon Phillips has put out a very interesting update on his own Substack website this morning on Chelsea’s winger pursuit and mentions Williams, as well as Desire Doue and Federico Chiesa, with interest info on those two as well!
Chelsea still in for Williams
Chelsea ‘are still there’ for Williams, reports Phillips today.
He says: “We have also just been told this morning that Chelsea ‘are still there’ for Nico Williams, who is of course a left winger. We were also told right after the Olise move failed that we approached Williams and Barcelona to get the conditions of any deal for Williams. So again, none of this makes much sense.
“Sources have said that the Williams to Barcelona move has stalled for now, and a lot like the situation with PSG and Victor Osimhen, Chelsea are now sensing an opportunity to move in. This is one to watch.
“Worth noting that Williams can also play on the right as well, but is predominately a left winger.”
