Chelsea set for busy ten days with club hoping to make two or three signings by end of July

Chelsea are hoping to make two or three more signings by the end of July with the attack an area of focus according to The Athletic.

It’s been a busy summer so far with six new faces arriving at Stamford Bridge including the likes of Tosin Adarabioyo and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

The Blues have their first two pre-season friendlies this week against Wrexham and Celtic on Wednesday and Saturday respectively as preparations for the new campaign start to ramp up.

Chelsea are thought to be in the market for a goalkeeper, winger and striker as they continue to strengthen their squad in an attempt to get back into the Champions League next season.

In an ideal world it would be beneficial if any new signings were able to play some part in pre-season in order to adapt to their new surroundings and Enzo Maresca’s demands.

The Athletic have reported that the Blues are hoping to make two or three signings by the end of July, with attack believed to be an area of focus.

However, the report adds that there’s an “acceptance” some business could “drag” into August, with Chelsea’s first game against Manchester City set to take place on August 18th.

The Blues are making progress in their hunt for a new goalkeeper and made an approach for Villareal’s Filip Jorgensen on Monday, with the 22-year-old believed to have a £35m release clause in his contract, whilst there’s an appreciation for Mads Hermansen who Maresca signed for Leicester last summer.

In terms of attacking options The Athletic state the club are still monitoring Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion, whilst Nico Williams still remains high on Chelsea’s list of wingers despite interest from Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain.

It looks like it could be a busy nine days for the club and as we know it’s hard to rule anything out when it comes to Chelsea and the transfer market.
