Chelsea have officially launched their new home shirt for the upcoming 2024/2025 season with the inspiration based on a flame.
Fans have had to wait a while for the new shirt with Chelsea once again one of the last teams to release their new home kit.
The shirt is certainly different to any other home kit the club have had and features a bold design to bring in a new era for the club under Enzo Maresca and Sonia Bompastor.
Shirts will once again be sold with no sponsor on the front, and when a sponsor is announced fans will have the opportunity to also purchase that version.
The shirt features a very bold pattern and also has an orange trim on the sleeves and round the badge, with the Chelsea website describing the “vibrant” blue as the the hottest part of the flame and the “burning passion to succeed on and off the pitch.”
Meanwhile the orange represents a “different kind of fire coming through the ranks at the club.”
I have to say it doesn’t appear to look any better on the players, and for me this shirt has to be up there with one of the worst Chelsea shirts in recent memory.
