(Video) Chelsea ace involved in brawl 122 seconds into first pre-season game

Pre-season is meant to be a low key affair as teams look to build their fitness ahead of the new season, but it’s clear Chelsea and Wrexham didn’t get the memo.

Enzo Maresca’s first game in charge finished in a 2-2 draw with Christopher Nkunku and Lesley Ugochukwu scoring the goals, but it took just over two minutes for the game to turn ugly.

Wrexham’s James McClean, who has a reputation as a fiery character made a late challenge on Levi Colwill, which the defender wasn’t impressed with.

Colwill immediately squared up to McClean and grabbed his shirt, almost pulling it over his head before players rushed over break the altercation up with Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson also getting involved in separating the pair.

Neither player was booked, probably due to the fact it was a pre-season game, but the fiery start probably wasn’t what anyone had in mind, and not exactly keeping in the spirit of a friendly.

Colwill is likely to be an important player for the Blues this season and he’s switched to the number 6 shirt for the new campaign.

Chelsea are back in action on Saturday for the second game of their tour against Celtic as preparations continue for next season.
