Levi Colwill has described new boss Enzo Maresca as “proper hands on” and hopes the Italian can help the Blues win more games and achieve more as a team.
Colwill is preparing for his second season at Chelsea having had a breakthrough campaign under Mauricio Pochettino last season.
The 21-year-old has been back in pre-season training for two weeks and will head off to America on Monday with his new team-mates for the club’s pre-season tour.
Last year Colwill signed a new long term contract, which saw him commit his future to the club, and he’s swapped to the number six shirt for the upcoming season having previously worn the number 26.
Chelsea’s in house media team caught up with Colwill after a recent training session and the academy graduate shared his views on Maresca, describing him as proper hands on and amazing so far.
Colwill will need to impress on the pre-season tour if he’s to earn a place in Maresca’s starting line up for the new season, with competition for places in defence fierce as he competes with the likes of Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah, Benoit Badiashile and new signing Tosin Adarabioyo.
