(Image) £30m man confirms move to Chelsea with emotional goodbye message

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has confirmed he’s leaving Leicester after posting an emotional goodbye to fans on Instagram ahead of his move to Chelsea.

The 25-year-old will become the Blues latest signing in a deal worth £30m, and all that’s missing is an official announcement from the club.

Dewsbury-Hall has been at Leicester for 17 years and came through the ranks at their academy before establishing himself as a key player for the first team.

The midfielder will reunite with Enzo Maresca who he shone under in the Championship, scoring 12 goals and providing 14 assists as the Foxes won the Championship title last season.

Dewsbury-Hall becomes the latest player to swap Leicester for Chelsea following in the footsteps of Ben Chilwell, Wesley Fofana, N’Golo Kante and Danny Drinkwater.

In his emotional goodbye message Dewsbury-Hall thanked the Leicester fans for all their support and added he loved every minute of his time at the club.

He will now join up with his new team mates and start preparations for Chelsea’s pre-season tour to America at the end of the month.

  1. Chelsea have secured the signature of Leicester midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for around £30million. The 25-year-old has agreed a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge and is reunited with Chelsea’s new boss Enzo Maresca, having worked together last season. Although the Foxes have lost one of their key players, the transfer will help significantly in their attempts to stay within the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules. The fee is recorded as pure profit as the midfielder came through the ranks at the King Power Stadium.
