“I am in a good place now” – Chelsea ace ready for first minutes of pre-season

Summer signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall admitted he’s now in a “good place” after an injury kept him out of Chelsea’s first two pre-season games.

The midfielder followed Enzo Maresca in swapping the King Power stadium for Stamford Bridge and joined the Blues in a deal worth £30m.

The 25-year-old impressed under the Italian as the Foxes won the Championship title last season, and he scored 12 goals and provided 14 assists.

Dewsbury-Hall in a good place

Dewsbury-Hall will be hoping to make a similar impact for the Blues this season, but unfortunately he’s missed  the games against Wrexham and Celtic with a small niggle he picked up in the off season.

Luckily for the Englishman he’s not missed out on much given he’s familiar with Maresca’s system, and in good news Dewsbury-Hall is set to get his first minutes of the tour on Wednesday night against Club America.

Dewsbury-Hall is set for his first minutes of pre-season against Club America.

The former Leicester man has said he’s now in a good place following the small issue he had in the off season and is ready to get some minutes under his belt.

“I am in a good place now,” he told talkSPORT.

I had a little problem during the off-season but thankfully I worked hard, have been training with the lads for a couple of weeks and I’m ready to get some pre-season minutes, hopefully against Club America.”

It came as a slight surprise that Chelsea signed Dewsbury-Hall given the amount of options they have in the middle of the park, but he does offer a different profile given he’s left footed and has an eye for goal which the other midfielders don’t have.

It remains to be seen how much of a role Dewsbury-Hall will have next season, but it’s likely given the amount of games Chelsea have he will get plenty of opportunities to impress, and he could have a bigger impact than people expect.
