Serie A side Fiorentina have made contact with Chelsea over the possibility of signing Cesare Casadei with three or four clubs interested in the Italian according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues are currently in America and drew the first game of their pre-season tour 2-2 against Wrexham on Wednesday night, with Christopher Nkunku and Lesley Ugochukwu scoring the goals.
Casadei wasn’t called up to the squad and he’s expected to be one of a number of the players that leaves the club permanently or on loan before the window closes.
Fiorentina want Casadei
Casadei arrived at Chelsea from Inter Mlian in 2022 with the Blues paying an initial £12.6m for the midfielder with a further £4.2m in add ons.
The 21-year-old spent the second half of the 2022/2023 campaign on loan at Reading, before spending the first half of last season at Leicester where he coincidentally worked under Enzo Maresca before being recalled by Chelsea.
Romano has provided an update on the midfielder’s future and said that Fiorentina have made contact, whilst three or four clubs are also thought to be interested.
He took to X.com and said:
Casadei isn’t the only youngster who could leave this summer with Alfie Gilchrist, Deivid Washington and Lesley Ugochukwu all expected to leave the club in some capacity during the window.
