New Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been perfectly explaining what Enzo Maresca wants from his number 8, and of course, he is someone who will know this very well.
Dewsbury-Hall was a regular pick for Maresca at Leicester City last season as his number 8 in centre midfield, so he will be the one in this current Chelsea squad right now who probably knows this better than anyone else as Maresca tries to get his ideas and style of play across to the whole squad.

Dewsbury-Hall has been earmarked by Maresca to be getting his first minutes in a Chelsea shirt in the early hours of tomorrow morning when The Blues take on Club America for their next pre-season friendly this campaign, and he would be expected to be playing in that exact role.
Dewsbury-Hall eager to go
The English midfielder will be raring to go once again under Maresca but this time in a different blue of Chelsea!
In words cited by SPTC today, Dewsbury Hall said: “He [Maresca] just wants a player that just knows the role well, knows what positions to pick up in possession and someone that can contribute in terms of goals and assists.
That’s a big part of his No.8. He wants them to be involved in the attacking play, getting in the box and just knowing the role and knowing the positions and also out of possession pressing. He wants you to be aggressive and press high.”
