And as well as Fernandez, Blues boss Enzo Maresca will also be boosted by the arrival of a new goalkeeper in the ranks.

It’s become common knowledge now that Chelsea are signing Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen pending a medical. And now it’s being reported that he will be taking that medical in the United States and then joining up with his new Chelsea team mates on the pre-season tour, hoping to get some of his first minutes as a new Chelsea player.

Chelsea fly to Atlanta over night

As reported by The Daily Mail’s Kieran Gill above, Chelsea flew overnight to Atlanta to continue the rest of their tour of America for pre-season, with the next game against Club America in the early hours of Thursday morning UK time.

22-year-old stopper Jorgensen is also now set to join them in the States to finalise £20.7m move.

But another pending new signing Aaron Anselmino will not be joining Chelsea in the States though, as he is expected to be loaned back to his club Boca Juniors until at least January.
