Player has “now completed all formal steps” to become a new Chelsea player

One player is now leaving his club and has completed all the formal steps to become a new Chelsea player in this summer transfer window, according to the latest report this lunchtime.

Chelsea’s transfer business continues, and there is some seemingly big plans underway. But this next move has come as a real surprise amongst the Blues fan base, and everyone else in football really.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea now keen on signing versatile Bayern Munich attacker this summer! 👀

The club are about to sign Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to add to Enzo Maresca’s squad. This is a move that has come from nowhere really, despite the fact that Dewsbury-Hall used to play under Maresca at Leicester last season. It’s not a position that anyone reported that Chelsea were looking to sign in, and in my opinion, it’s definitely not a position that should be seen as a priority, or even close to it for Chelsea this summer.

Chelsea are very stacked in midfield, and this is a move that might well suggest that they are planning to sell one or two of their own current midfielders this summer as well in order to make some space and balance some more books.

Dewsbury-Hall set to join Chelsea

According to Fabrizio Romano in his latest post on X today, Dewsbury-Hall has now completed all formal steps including a medical to join Chelsea. Same for Michael Golding to join Leicester City on £5m deal from Chelsea, NO buy back clause.

It seems like there is just some formalities to tie up before an announcement anytime from now. Golding is not going as part of a swap deal, his deal will be a separate one. But it’s unofficially part of the same negotiations.

A surprising move for sure, but Dewsbury-Hall is a very good player and I am sure he will hold his own in this Chelsea squad and really push on in his own career.
