Player joins Chelsea’s pre-season in USA but the ‘club is divided’ in concerning update

One player has now joined up with the rest of the Chelsea pre-season squad over in the USA and whilst it might be a boost for Enzo Maresca, the club is divided.

Maresca is obviously going to be keen to have his strongest squad possible to pick from in the next upcoming pre-season friendly matches, so he will be pleased to have an extra option.

Sources: Chelsea working on deal for new winger behind the scenes – name revealed!

Enzo Fernandez is also a key player for Chelsea so of course Maresca is going to be pleased to have him back.

However, the concerns are whether it is going to cause any issues amongst the group and how the overall morale might now be effected by Fernandez’s return, and that is due to what happened with him and his Argentine team mates after winning the Copa America this summer.

They sang a racist and homophobic song directed at French national team players and naturally, all hell broke loose after that. There are now concerns over how the French players and others in the Chelsea squad will act when Fernandez comes back in.

The situation remains tense

The Argentine midfielder is now back with the squad, according to the latest report.

Local source Christian Martin says Enzo Fernandez has joined pre season. The club is divided, some French players see it one way while the rest of the club including Enzo Maresca see it differently. Willy Caballero explained the cultural context to the players. The club hopes to solve the issue amicably, however a sanction on Enzo can’t be ruled out.

  1. It’s not about how any of the players act save Enzo. He’s the one who has to make this right and if he can’t or won’t then HE’S the issue, not the players who were abused by his racism.

As shocking as the original incident was, what was even more shocking was how Enzo seemed to think he could issue a public apology and then jaunt off on holiday as if everything would be peachy keen when he got back, lol! In what world is he living??? Apparently it’s a Neanderthal world in which grown men who work in an international and interracial profession don’t have the slightest self awareness.

  2. Racism is bad but may Enzo apologize to the manager and the team. We need unity in our great team Chelsea. God bless Chelsea forever.

    1. Racism is one thing which should not be entertained everywhere. Enzo should genuinely apologize and let us be united as a team. May the team find it in their hearts to forgive him. Chelsea is our special club.

  3. Human made mistake. It good that enzo admit his mistake and ask for apologies to the media, the players and the chelsea official. Hope this mistake he made. He really learnt his lesson and will never happen again. Hope what happen will be a good lesson to all people in the world. Now i really hope the chelsea team put the past behind and move forward as a team to win cups back with the new enzo maresca system. Chelsea chelsea!!!

  4. Until Africans everywhere and anywhere are able to fight tribalism and ethnocentrism amongst ourselves, shouldn’t hypothetically be fighting racism.

  5. Racism is here to stay whether he apologizes or not his heart and blood remain racist.
It’s only the blacks to learn how to ignore the racists.
If they abuse and we keep moving on one day the racists will get ashamed and stop their barbaric actions.
