(Image) Chelsea legend makes instant impact on debut for new club

Chelsea legend Thiago Silva made his debut for Fluminense on Sunday evening and of course the Brazilian made an instant impact.

Silva’s four year stay at Stamford Bridge came to an at the end of last season and he returned to Brazil where he signed a two year contract at Fluminense.

The 39-year-old created a fantastic bond with Chelsea supporters who will no doubt miss Silva this coming season, but will forever be grateful for his contribution to the club.

Being the great player he is it didn’t take Silva long to make an impact at Fluminense and they achieved something they hadn’t in the last 12 games on his debut.

Fluminense beat Cuiaba 1-0 to not only move off the bottom of the Brazilian Serie A but they also recorded their first win in 11 games and first clean sheet in 12.

Silva of course captained the side and will no doubt have a huge role to play for Fluminense as they look to climb away from the foot of the table.
