“I’ve had a lot of fun so far” – New signing opens up on start to life at Chelsea

New signing Tosin Adarabioyo has settled into life at Chelsea quickly following his arrival at the club this summer, and has described the pre-season training as “great so far.”

Adarabioyo was Chelsea’s first summer signing, with the centre back joining on a free transfer from neighbours Fulham to help strengthen the club’s defensive options.

The 26-year-old appears to have settled into life at Chelseas well, and was one of several players to report back to the club’s Cobham training base a week ahead of schedule.

The squad now have two weeks of pre-season training under their belts and jet off to America on Monday to play five matches as preparations for the new campaign really begin to ramp up.

According to reports the players have really taken to Enzo Maresca’s methods and are enjoying his training sessions.

Bar those who were involved in the Copa America and European Championship finals the 44-year-old has had virtually a full squad to work with from day one which is a huge plus.

The new signings appear to be settling in well to their new surroundings, and Adarabioyo has been explaining how he’s settled in so quickly and what training has been like.

“Pre-season has been great so far,” he told Chelsea’s website.

“All the training sessions and getting to know the boys have been real highlights. I’ve had a lot of fun so far.

“Everyone has been great with me and helped me settle. It’s been great getting to know all of them, and I think that’s shown in that picture of the winners in the gym session earlier in the week.

“I’ve enjoyed my first few weeks. We are working hard and learning the way the manager [Enzo Maresca] wants us to play. We have spent time focusing on that while doing the physical work.

“It’s great because he is asking a lot of me and the other defenders. It starts with the central defenders and the goalkeeper, we are the focal point.”

Adarabioyo could make his first appearance in a Chelsea shirt on Wednesday evening when the Blues take on Wrexham in their first pre-season friendly before further games against Club America, Celtic, Real Madrid and Manchester City.
