Chelsea and Atletico Madrid seem to be slowly moving towards an agreement over the transfer of Conor Gallagher.
The whole idea of selling the youngster is something the majority of Chelsea fans have struggled to get their head around, and now the wider footballing world is having to do the same thing. The Sky Sports pundits puzzled over it today:
“He’s such an important player, off the pitch and on the pitch… a presence in the dressing room… a player that started a game for England at the Euros! It beggars belief that an England international is surplus to requirements at a club that isn’t challenging for Champions League football, really,” commented one.
It’s hard to disagree with that logic. Do we really feel like we’re getting stronger selling one of our best performers from last season?
