Why this Chelsea player has a unique chance to “cement his spot” in next two weeks

The London Is Blue podcast spent today discussion the preseason tour which kicks off tomorrow night with our game against Wrexham.

They went through the list of players heading to the US and decided who was going to have the biggest chance to impress.

One name that came up a lot was Romeo Lavia. He’s in a pretty unique position – he was bought for a lot of money a year ago, and then didn’t play at all due to injury. But in this opening stage of the tour, his fellow midfielders Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Conor Gallagher are all on holiday after international commitments this summer.

Lavia has “a big chance” in these first games to “cement his spot” and “show how good he is” and make up for a lost season.
