Brighton striker linked to Chelsea again even after Samu Omorodion being close

Chelsea seem to be pushing ahead with their move to sign Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion this summer as they look to tie up the final details on that one.

There’s also been talk that Victor Osimhen could still arrive at the club as well as Omorodion as the club ponder bringing in two strikers this window.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea will make SECOND Oscar Bobb approach, closing on Grabriel Mec!!

However, there is another name that has been linked once again to Chelsea who could arrive as well as Omorodion, you’d assume if Chelsea cannot get Osimhen.

According to our writer Simon Phillips in his latest updates on his own Substack site this morning, Chelsea are still keen on Evan Ferguson on Brighton.

Ferguson been mentioned

Chelsea keen on Ferguson

It seems like the young striker has been mentioned internally at Chelsea again this week after recent interest.

Phillips wrote: “One of our SPTC sources who gave the info above, has said that he’s heard Evan Ferguson has been mentioned again this week. But whenever we have heard that name we still see that as massively unlikely due to the high price Brighton have on his head, unless there has been movement on that and they have said that they will lower their demands. Let’s see, but I don’t expect anything to really spark up on this one.

“Ferguson is well-liked by a few decision makers at Chelsea and has been scouted heavily recently.”

As Phillips says, this doesn’t seem to be a likely deal because Brighton would just price him out of a move, but interesting to see that Chelsea are still pondering him.
