Pundit believes Chelsea have made signing of the summer with €60m man

Jamie Carragher believes Pedro Neto is a special talent and has named the Portuguese as his impact signing of the summer.

The Blues have once again been active in the market and whilst their spending hasn’t reached the heights of previous windows they have once again invested heavily in the squad.

It will be interesting to see how the new signings bed in and four of them made their debuts against Manchester City last weekend.

Carragher shares thoughts on Neto

One of those players was Portugal international Neto who came on as a second half substitute following his £51.4m move from Wolves.

The 24-year-old made an impact when he came on and injected some pace into the game and provided the Blues with some much needed natural width.

Neto is a proven quantity at Premier League level and is equally comfortable on both wings which is a huge plus for Enzo Maresca.

Pundits haven’t been afraid to criticise Chelsea and it certainly feels like it’s open season on the club right now, but Carragher has had something positive to say and named Neto as his predicted impact signing of the summer on Monday Night Football.

“If they can keep him fit, he’s a special talent. I think he is one of the top players in the Premier League if fit,” he said.

Neto’s fitness record is the one big thing hanging over him and despite his talent injuries blighted his time at Wolves, but if the Blues can keep him fit then he’s the calibre of player that can elevate Chelsea’s attack to another level.

Neto isn’t the only attacking signing to arrive at Stamford Bridge and he will soon be joined by his Portugal team-mate Joao Felix after the Blues agreed a deal with Atletico Madrid for the forward.

Felix will make his return to the club having spent part of the 2022/2023 season on loan with the Blues, where he scored four goals in 20 appearances.
