Chelsea believe that one of their players who is close to agreeing a loan move away from the club has similar attributes to Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni..
The irony here of course is that Chelsea seemingly wanted to sign Tchouameni themselves under the previous ownership. They missed out on the deal and the player has since become a star in Madrid.

But could Chelsea have themselves the next Tchouameni? And what of his immediate future?
The Athletic reported last night that Southampton are in advanced talks with Chelsea to sign midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu on loan for the season.
Chelsea apparently view Ugochukwu as big to long term plans, so there will be no buy option or sale considered. Chelsea also view Southampton manager Russell Martin as ideal for the development of Lesley, per the report.
Tchouameni part two?
In the same report, it goes on to say that Chelsea believe Ugochukwu possesses similar attributes to Tchouameni.
Yeah I think let’s just wait and see on big claims like this. It’s easy to say that but we have to wait and see. Lesley does look to be a very competent young player with a lot of potential, and I think this loan move will be excellent for him if it happens. It may well be the making of him if he goes there and thrives. And he does have all the attributes to do just that.
Let’s see how it goes over the course of next season if Chelsea can get this deal done.
