Chelsea put clubs on alert after changing stance on talented player

Chelsea are prepared to let Armando Broja leave on loan if the deal includes an obligation to buy of around £30m according to The Athletic.

The Blues have once again been busy in the transfer window making a number of new signings, the latest of which is Joao Felix after they agreed a deal with Atletico Madrid on Monday afternoon.

Victor Osimhen remains a target but Chelsea will desperately be looking to offload a number of players over the last few days of the window.

Chelsea change Broja stance

The size of Chelsea’s squad has been well publicised in recent weeks, but the Blues have started to make inroads into moving players on.

However, they still haven’t sold the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Trevoh Chalobah, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Broja, all of who are training away from the first team.

The Blues tried to sell Broja in January and reportedly set an ambitious asking price of £50m, which there were surprisingly no takers at.

Broja is set to leave Chelsea this summer with the Blues wanting around £30m.

Instead the Albania International joined Fulham on loan to get regular game time in an attempt to boost his value which turned out to be a disaster as he played just 80 minutes of football for Marco Silva’s side.

It’s believed the club want round £30m for the striker, who has attracted interest from the likes of Everton, Wolves and Premier League new boys Ipswich Town.

Chelsea have insisted they only want to sell the striker, but The Athletic have reported they have changed their stance and are prepared to allow Broja to leave on loan as long as an obligation to buy of around £30m is included.

The report adds this decision has alerted a number of clubs and there will be certain criteria that need to met with it seen as similar to the deal that saw Lewis Hall move to Newcastle on an initial loan.

This change in stance is perhaps an admittance from the club that it’s proving more difficult to move Broja on than they first thought, but it’s highly unlikely the 22-year-old will still be at Stamford Bridge come the end of the window.
