Chelsea aren’t in active negotiations for Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho but they know the situation according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues are likely to be one of the busiest clubs over the last few days of the window as they look to move on as many as seven players and try and bring in a new striker.
The Stamford Bridge outfit face a race against the clock to get moves done and two of the biggest issues they face are finding new homes for Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell.
Chelsea not in active negotiations for Sancho
The Blues might have to get creative when it comes to finding a solution for Sterling who still has three years left to run on his lucrative contract which is reportedly worth in excess of £300,000 per week.
David Ornstein reported on Monday that Sterling wants to reach an agreement with Chelsea over what they owe him before making a decision on where he might move to.
There have been reports suggesting a possible swap deal could be on the cards involving both Sterling and Sancho, with United open to moving the former Borussia Dortmund man on.
However, Romano has provided an update on the situation and reported that the Blues aren’t currently in active negotiations for Sancho.
“Chelsea are not in active negotiations for Jadon Sancho, but they know the situation. Let’s see what they decide to do. One for the final hours,” he said on his YouTube channel.
The Blues may well have to get creative when it comes to finding a way to move Sterling on and it’s been reported that he would be open to a move to Old Trafford.
In terms of where Sancho would fit in at Chelsea that’s less clear and it feels like there simply isn’t room for him in the current squad.
Financially it might make sense as Chelsea would get Sterling’s salary off the books, but Sancho would have to agree to a pay cut in order to fit in with the club’s wage structure, but the Blues would be getting a younger player who is financially more valuable in the long term.
With Antony and Rashford under performing BIG time, it seems incomprehensible that United are seemingly seeking to sell Jadon Sancho.
Antony seems to have had some hold over EtH, although that hold has apparently tried Eric so much that he has (at long last) given Amad a chance to shine.
However, Rashford likewise seems to have some hold over Eric and, until EtH lifts his eyes, United will continue to suffer.
In which case, with two vastly under performing “stars” still being considered as United players, why is Jadon Sancho not been given a chance?
True, he upset EtH last season; but lets not forget that Eric started it off by openly saying Sancho was not trying, so why should Jadon not openly reply?
I for one hope that Sancho is not sold and is given a chance ahead of both Rashford and Antony.
