Chelsea looking to strike £40m deal to sign player in domino push on transfers

Chelsea are hoping to tie up a £40m deal in order to sign one player this month that will see the dominos fall on the completion of another transfer deal for this summer.

Chelsea have been busy so far this window and as that now draws to a close in the final three weeks, the club are expected to get even busier with a few big deals to tie up now. The Blues seemingly want to offload a bunch more players, and there could also be another arrival or two in the door.

One situation is tied in together and could advance now this week. A lot has been said and reported on this one recently, and it seems to be a difficult story to really grasp and know what is going on with it.

Atletico Madrid are trying to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea this month but that has stalled. It looks like Chelsea need to sign an Atletico player in order for this to go through.

Felix’s future in the balance

According to The Evening Standard today, Chelsea will look to strike a deal for Joao Felix in the region of £40million, in a move that would allow Conor Gallagher to complete his switch to Atletico Madrid.

So it seems like if/when Chelsea can secure a move to sign Felix, then Gallagher will be able to go and complete his deal to join Atletico.

It’s all been very messy indeed with the whole situation not being ideal.
