Crucial meeting could see major Chelsea transfer saga ended in next 24 hours

Chelsea and Napoli will meet again in London on Thursday in an attempt to get a deal done for Romelu Lukaku according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues are set for a busy end to the window and whilst one or two more players may come in their main focus will be on moving players on.

The club currently have a “bomb squad” training away from the first team which contains the likes of Lukaku, Trevoh Chalobah, Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell.

Chelsea and Napoli to meet again over Lukaku

Chelsea have been trying to offload Lukaku all summer and bring an end to his nightmare second spell at the club.

The Belgian has spent the last two years on loan at Inter and Roma but has his heart set on a move to Napoli which would see him reunite with Antonio Conte.

The two clubs have been locked in negotiations for weeks but still haven’t come to an agreement on a fee, with Chelsea reportedly wanting the £38m exit clause although it remains to be seen how likely that will be.

Romano has now provided an update stating the two clubs will meet again in London on Thursday in an attempt to get the deal done.

Napoli submitted an offer earlier this week worth around £25.5m which was a loan with an obligation to buy, but Chelsea are clearly holding out for more.

Lukaku has reportedly agreed terms on a three year contact with the Serie A club and will take a pay cut in order to  complete the move.

This saga has dragged on all summer but it finally seems the end could be in sight and both parties will end up getting what they want.

The deal won’t involve Victor Osimhen and it seems once the Lukaku deal is done the two clubs will then discuss the Nigerian with Chelsea only interested in a loan, which the player reportedly isn’t keen on right now but that stance could change with the end of the window fast approaching.
