Joao Felix trains watched by Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea release update which hints at moment fans can’t wait for tomorrow as new transfer returns

One thing we’ll have to get used to this season is the way that pre-match press conferences for the weekend are going to be tacked on after the Thursday night Conference League games.

That makes it hard to get up to date team information for the weekend, but in this case the club are doing it for us.

They posted pictures of Joao Felix in training today, and strongly hint that he’s going to be ready for a second debut at some stage tomorrow when we take on Wolves. Lots of fans are very excited to see the new signing in action, and they should get a chance by the looks of things. With a full team rotation having taken place in midweek we expect the first team to be restored tomorrow, but players like Christopher Nkunku who started both games so far will need a break at some point, bumping Felix up the pecking order.

Maresca the latest coach to get to tinker with attacking starlet

We were not in favour of the Felix signing – we still don’t really see how he’s enough of an upgrade to precipitate us having to force out other players, possibly at a loss. But that doesn’t mean we’re not excited to see what he can do back in Blue. He’s a silky player who has always been able capable of brilliant moments, but unable to string them together into consistent games and then seasons.

Maybe Enzo Maresca can get that out of him? They won’t have had many sessions to work together by the time tomorrow’s game comes along, but bit by bit we hope to see progress. Tomorrow is a huge game as we face a solid mid table Premier League team after one match against a very strong side and one against a very weak one.

  1. Whatever people say, I’ve always seen Felix as a top player and a great signing. I’ll admit, I was a bit jealous when I heard he might sign for Manchester City and when he was on loan at Barcelona. But I know he’ll prove me right when he starts performing for Chelsea. He’s our player now, and I believe he’ll shine in blue.
