Chelsea are expected to hold more talks for Victor Osimhen in the next few days but do have other targets according to reports.
Despite the heavy investment once again this summer the Blues are still looking to bring in a proven goalscorer, with many feeling that’s the one position which needs filling.
The club have already signed Marc Guiu from Barcelona and despite the teenager showing promising signs they are looking for more competition for Nicolas Jackson.
More Osimhen talks expected
The Blues have been linked with a host of names across Europe throughout the summer, but a move for a striker has yet to materialise with less than a week of the window left.
Osimhen is clearly Chelsea’s top target but they are only interested in a loan deal at this stage, which neither the player or Napoli are thought to be keen on, whilst the Nigerian isn’t prepared to reduce his salary either.
However, after reaching an agreement with Napoli for Romelu Lukaku the clubs can now fully focus on a potential deal for the Nigeria international.
Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has provided an update and reported that more talks are scheduled in the coming days, but the Blues also have other targets if a deal can’t be done.
Romelu Lukaku’s imminent departure makes it even more likely Chelsea will sign a new No. 9 before next Friday. They have been interested in Victor Osimhen all summer but his €100m plus valuation and high wages make any potential deal difficult.

The striker market isn’t the best and Chelsea saw a move for Samu Omorodion collapse earlier this month and Osimhen is clearly the standout name on the market.
The 25-year-old has scored 76 goals in 133 appearances for the Serie A outfit and played a key role in the 2022/2023 season, scoring 26 goals in 32 league appearances as Napoli won the title.
It feels like Chelsea are in a good position and with the clock ticking something will have to give on Osimhen’s side, but there’s always the possibility another club could come in and the issue for Chelsea is they don’t have Champions League football and they are unlikely to meet his salary demands.
The financial situation to get osimhen is too much . His wages high , the best alternatives for Chelsea FC to sign striker Toney or gyokores of sporting Lisbon .or kolo muani . This team needs a world class Striker to compete and keep disasi , disasi versatility can help the team . Tosin look solid at the back . It’s good to have a competition of players at each position due to too many games to play. The problem is ego of player .
