Chelsea set asking price for youngster who’s made two appearances for the club

Chelsea youngster Alex Matos is set to leave on loan or be sold with the Blues said to value him at £10m according to The Athletic.

The final few days of the window are set to be frantic at Stamford Bridge and as many as seven players could leave the club before Friday’s deadline.

Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell are arguably the biggest outgoings Chelsea are looking to find solutions for, but there are many others who the Blues are looking to move on.

Chelsea set Matos asking price

As well as established stars the Blues are seeking solutions for a number of their talented youngsters, whether that be loan moves or permanent sales.

One player who falls into that category is Matos who arrived on a free transfer from Norwich City last summer and has two years remaining on his deal.

The 19-year-old, who was handed his debut by Mauricio Pochettino has made just two appearances for the club, one in the Premier League and one in the Carabao Cup.

Matos is set to leave this summer and Chelsea value him at £10m.

The England under-20 international spent the second half of last season on loan in the Championship with Huddersfield where he made 20 appearances and scored one goal.

However, Matos is seemingly a long way from the first team picture and The Athletic have reported that the youngster will leave on loan or be sold and that the Blues value him at £10m.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to French side Lens and Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg but so far nothing has materialised with either club.

For obvious reasons you would imagine the Blues would prefer the midfielder to join Strasbourg but a £10m valuation on a player who’s made two appearances for the first team and arrived on a free last summer seems like a steep valuation and one that not many, if any teams would be prepared to meet.
