€22m striker ready for loan to Champions League team claims latest from German insider

Armando Broja is being heavily linked with a loan move to German side Stuttgart.

The €22m valued striker is available this summer, and despite going on the USA tour with the first team has been very obviously shopped around as the Blues look to offload some of their bloated squad.

German insider Florian Plettenberg has said that Broja is a “concrete option” for Stuttgart, and the player is “open to joining.”

It’s still apparently in the “early stages,” but loan moves are relatively simple to conclude, and if Stuttgart are keen they could wrap up a deal in just a couple of days. They have qualified for the Champions League after an impressive second place finish in the Bundesliga last year, and they’re a team with a lot of attacking flair in a league which tends to be quite open.

Broja left wondering as future away from Chelsea looms

Poor old Armando. Along with so many others of our Cobham favourites, he will always be left wondering what might have been. The injury that struck him just as he was starting to play regularly not only set him back hugely physically and in terms of confidence, it also killed his momentum in terms of getting into the team.

That was his chance – there were no good options up front and he had the rest of the season ahead of him to show what he could do. But being struck down so cruelly he found Nicolas Jackson arriving the next summer, and Broja has barely had a sniff since.

Let’s hope his career can get back on track. Upwardly mobile Stuttgart could be a good move – we hope it comes off for Armando. There’s a player in there, but he needs a lot of time on the pitch to build himself up again.
