Fabrizio Romano provides update which will delight Chelsea fans

Noni Madueke is set to stay at Chelsea this summer despite rumours linking him with a move away according to Fabrizio Romano.

Madueke starred as he scored a hat-trick in Chelsea’s emphatic 6-2 win away at Wolves on Sunday, arguably his best performance in a Chelsea shirt.

The winger seems perfectly suited to Enzo Maresca’s system and having not started the first two games of the season he’s now scored four goals in three games as he looks to stake a claim for a regular place in the starling line-up.

The 22-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 but struggled to make an impact in his first six months at the club.

After a difficult start to last season there were signs of improvement under Mauricio Pochettino as Madueke finished the season really strongly and he scored a number of important goals for the Blues.

However, despite a positive pre-season and an impressive start to the campaign there had been reports suggesting Chelsea would be open to letting Madueke go if a really good offer came in.

Newcastle were believed to be a side interested in the England under-21 international but nothing has materialised on that front and Romano has now provided an update on the winger.

“Noni Madueke is set to stay at Chelsea, I think today (Sunday) is the final confirmation of this plan,” he said on The Here We Go Podcast.

This news will no doubt delight Chelsea fans and anything other than keeping Madueke wouldn’t have gone down well with the supporters.

Madueke has developed so much already since he arrived at Chelsea and under Maresca it appears his game is going to another level and he can really establish himself as a key part of this side.

It appears he’s got a brilliant understanding with Cole Palmer and the pair linked up to devastating effect against Wolves and could be a problem for many more Premier League defences.

  1. He was always going to stay anyway, media pie-in-the-sky story lines that he was going to Newcastle Or up for sale were nonsense

  2. The Chelsea club need to bring clorobbah in to the team. He is better than the defenders Chelsea have currently.
Again one player is the problem for the team is Enzo. He is not doing well. He create a lot of mistake. He is not praying no 8 very well.

  3. We should learn to be patient with our younger talents by allowing them to mature along with the club. If we can do just this, I assure the footballing world that Chelsea will beat hard nut to crack in no distant time.

  4. It’s good news, but that of Sterling should be looked at carefully. He is another quality player that shouldn’t be given away just like that. The managers must give him a chance otherwise we’ll live to regret it. Please let Sterling stay for now. Thanks for space.

    1. I agree, Sterling should be given a chance and alternate with Pedro on the left wing. I support Chelsea and we cannot continue to treat out senior players like this. A little bit of respect is in order. And he’s better than Mudryk any day.

    2. Yeah you are right on this one he should not just be let go in a very easy way despite all the effort put in by Rahim

  5. That coach is brutally and rude Sterling is a quality player chelsea is used of giving nice player to rival team which is always a mistake

  6. Sterling should not stay pls. W
e have gotten more quality players ahead of him. He’s not good again. He should leave the club immediately.

  7. Nonii is always one among the best players in blues. He has got alot of qualities that we fans want .

  8. Yes I agree that Sterling should stay at Chelsea.
That way we should have skill and depth in every team department, plus experience. Chelsea have a very young squad and require depth in very tricky and difficult games, (the City game was one such), this is where the likes of Sterling come in. Moreover we have at least four cup competitions coming and rotations have t o happen, not to mention the dreaded injuries which have plagued our players for quite a while now.
