End of the transfer window has handed Chelsea a headache for one major reason

There are a lot of frustrated players left at Cobham with some youngsters wanting a move to Portugal according to reports.

The Blues were busy on deadline day and despite securing moves for the likes of Raheem Sterling, Trevoh Chalobah and Armando Broja there were a lot of players who were unable to complete moves away.

Chelsea have a number of youngsters still at the club who needed moves away including players like Alex Matos, Deivid Washington and David Datro Fofana.

Frustrated players at Cobham

Whilst the window may have closed other windows remain open so there could still be opportunities to secure moves to Portugal, Turkey or Saudi Arabia.

However, journalist Rahman Osman has reported that Getafe agreed a late deal with Chelsea for Matos but it fell through because they couldn’t register him on time with La Liga, whilst there are a number of other frustrated players at Cobham.

He took to X.com and said:

“Getafe agreed a late deal with Chelsea for Alex Matos around 8pm tonight. The deal fell through because they couldn’t register him on time with LA LIGA. A lot of frustrated players left at Cobham. Some of the young players want to move to Portugal.”

Washington had an eventful deadline day with reports emerging a deal worth €21m had been agreed with Strasbourg for the Brazilian, however that collapsed amid reported concerns of an investigation from the Premier League given the club are owned by the same owners.

It then appeared he was set to join Championship side Hull on loan but that also fell through as the cubs ran out of time so he appears set to remain at Chelsea unless a solution is found.

In the case of Datro Fofana it’s been reported that he’s still expected to leave the club in the next few days, whilst Hoffenheim and Sunderland opened negotiations on deadline day but were unable to agree a deal.
