Noni Madueke, Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez celebrate a big win.

Former Chelsea boss fires warning to the Blues despite emphatic Wolves win

Former Chelsea boss Glenn Hoddle has urged the Blues not to get carried away following their win against Wolves on Sunday.

Having lost to Manchester City on the opening weekend Chelsea needed a to get a positive result at a ground they hadn’t won at since 2019.

However, that’s exactly what the Blues did and despite an end to end first half which saw the scores level at 2-2, Maresca’s men ran riot in the second half.

Noni Madueke recorded a second half hat-trick with Cole Palmer assisting all of his goals whilst Joao Felix also found the back of the net on his debut.

Chelsea were scintillating going forward and on that evidence will cause most defences in the Premier League problems.

The Blues are blessed with so many quality options to choose from and Enzo Maresca will likely have a headache when selecting his starting eleven each week, which is a great position to be in.

Despite the win Hoddle warned Chelsea not to get carried away as every Premier League game won’t be like the one against Wolves.

Madueke scored a hat-trick as Chelsea ran riot against Wolves.

“Going forward they looked really good. We’ve said they’ve got good players but every game in this Premier League won’t be like that,” he told Premier League Productions.

“That was so open it was like the Wild West, it was basketball, there was no defending you could pull it to bits defensively for 90 minutes.

“But it made for a fantastic game. But with Chelsea if you give good players time and space on the ball they will hurt you.

“If you closed down you’re under pressure, whehter you’re a striker, midfielder or defender and life becomes different then. But Chelsea were given so much space.”

Hoddle is right in the sense that not every game is going to be like that, but Chelsea genuinely have the attacking threat to score goals against every opposition.

However, there’s no doubt the Blues need to tighten up defensively as they can’t afford to be conceding two goals per game because the attack won’t always be able to bail them out.
