Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has been speaking to the media again over night ahead of the club’s final pre-season game of their American tour.
They face Real Madrid over night on Wednesday into Thursday later this week, and it marks the final game of a run of friendly matches over in the USA this summer. Chelsea have won one, lost two, and drawn one so far, so they will be hoping to finish as strong as possible. Real Madrid though, present a very tough opposition just as Manchester City did in the last game.
EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea will make SECOND Oscar Bobb approach, closing on Grabriel Mec!!
Chelsea’s Premier League season starts in a couple of weeks time now and after the Real Madrid game, they will have just one pre-season friendly left against Inter Milan on Sunday.
So we are hitting crunch time now ahead of another long new season!
Jackson is a striker
🔵🎙Enzo Maresca on Nicolas Jackson's fitness:
"Nico this morning had the first complete session with us even if the session was very light."
"In terms of position, I see Nicolas as a striker."

Maresca was asked some questions on Nicolas Jackson, his fitness right now, and what position he sees him as in his lineup.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Maresca sees Jackson as a striker, but does mention that he can play on the wings if needs must.
Maresca said: “In terms of his position, I see Nico Jackson as a 9.”
“If we need him for some games as a winger so be it… but I view him as a striker.”

So there you have it, Jackson will be a 9. Personally, I think he’s a better wide striker, but I’m not the qualified coach here so I’ll leave it to the experts!
