Journalist reports result of Chelsea’s latest meeting with Napoli for Victor Osimhen

Chelsea have been trying to figure out a transfer deal to try and sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, with the Serie A side also wanting to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

The two clubs have seemingly been speaking about both these deals for a few weeks now, but there was a bit of a break in discussions recently.

Sources: The four striker names Chelsea are ‘watching’ this month – Chelsea are looking to bring one striker in before end of window

However, it was reported yesterday that there would be a new meeting between the two clubs this week to discuss proceedings and whether they can move forward and get both of them done, with deals for Lukaku to go to Napoli, and Osimhen to go to Chelsea.

Chelsea hold new Napoli meeting

No closer to a conclusion yet

According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italy, the one who reported that there would be fresh meetings, the results of the meeting yesterday have not really given us much of a conclusion.

He does say that Chelsea have showed a willingness to lower their price for Romelu Lukaku after a meeting today (Wednesday) with Napoli.

But he also says Chelsea need to present an adequate offer to Napoli and Osimhen for the deal to happen though.

So, it doesn’t look like the deal is any closer at all to getting done after the latest meeting, but you’d imagine that there will be more talks today because Chelsea really need to get Lukaku off their books and Napoli really want to sign him. Maybe Osimhen just ends up leaving the deal altogether and Napoli just end up signing Lukaku?
