(Image) Enzo Maresca creates Premier League history against Wolves

Enzo Maresca recorded his first Premier League win as Chelsea manager with an emphatic victory away at Wolves and created history in the process.

After an end to end first half the game was finely poised at 2-2, but the Blues came out in the second half and ran riot thanks to a Noni Madueke hat-trick and a debut goal from Joao Felix to record a 6-2 win.

It was Chelsea’s first win at Molineux since 2019 under Frank Lampard and was the perfect response to the opening weekend defeat against Manchester City.

It was vital for Maresca to get that first Premier League win under his belt as soon as possible and he will have been delighted with the attacking display, although less impressed with the defending for the goals conceded.

It wasn’t just his first Premier League win in charge of the Blues, but it was also a record breaking one as the Italian became the first manager in the competition’s history to see his team score six goals in his first Premier League away game.

Hopefully there will be more record breaking occasions and the Blues can enjoy a successful season under the 44-year-old.
