“I feel positive” – Chelsea ace shares thoughts ahead of critical season

Mykhailo Mudryk has said he feels positive ahead of the new season and thinks all the players like Enzo Maresca’s style of play.

Mudryk is currently on Chelsea’s pre-season tour of America with the Blues preparing for their final game against Real Madrid on Tuesday.

Having missed the first game against Wrexham the Ukrainian has played a part in the last three matches, although he’s not had much of an impact during those games.

Mudryk positive ahead of new season

The 23-year-old is facing a make or break season at Chelsea having largely failed to make an impact at Stamford Bridge following his arrival from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023.

Mudryk cut short his post Euro 2024 holiday so he could be at day one of Chelsea’s pre-season training and his work ethic is certainly something that can’t be questioned.

In theory Maresca’s system should suit the Ukraine international given the Italian likes to play two out and out wingers high up the pitch and Mudryk will be competing with Raheem Sterling for the starting spot on the left wing.

Next season is huge for Mudryk and his Chelsea career.

Ahead of the new season the Ukrainian revealed he felt positive and thinks all the players like Maresca’s style of play.

“I feel positive,” he told Chelsea’s official app.

“I think every player likes the style of playing, how we are going to play will be really interesting this season and I hope we will be so successful.”

The talent Mudryk possesses is undeniable and he showed it in glimpses last season, but the challenge is to unlock that on a far more consistent basis because he does have all the tools to be a top player.

Despite being 23 years old it feels like Mudryk still needs a lot of coaching and a lot if individual instructions, but Chelsea will be hoping Maresca is the man to bring the best out of the winger.
