Chelsea dealt potential blow with Serie A outfit only prepared to pay €30m for unwanted star

Chelsea flag waves at Stamford Bridge.

Napoli want to sign Romelu Lukaku on their terms and are only prepared to pay €30m for the striker according to reports in Italy.

The Blues are looking to offload Lukaku this month and are desperate to bring an end to his nightmare second spell at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgium international has spent the past two seasons on loan back in Italy at Inter Milan and Roma, and he’s got an exit clause in his deal worth around €43m, which Chelsea are looking to receive in full.

Napoli want Lukaku but only on their terms

Lukaku had been attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League but has made it clear his intention is to join Napoli and reunite with Antonio Conte.

According to reports he’s agreed a three contract with the Serie A outfit which will see him take a pay cut if the move goes through.

The sticking point to the deal has been Napoli’s inability to sell Victor Osimhen and Lukaku joining depends on the Nigeria international leaving.

Lukaku is desperate to join Napoli this summer.

Chelsea are believed to want Lukaku’s exit clause in full, but Italian outlet Di Marzio have reported that Napoli will only sign the Belgian on their terms and are prepared to offer €30m with Chelsea wanting around €43m.

The reports adds that Napoli could find themselves in a possible situation where they start the season with both Lukaku and Osimhen on their books.

Chelsea have been in talks with their Italian counterparts over a possible loan deal for the Nigeria international, but Di Marzio have reported that Osimhen is only available on a permanent basis.

It feels like this saga will rumble on until the final days of the transfer window and you would think an agreement can be reached that would suit all parties.

Chelsea can’t afford to head into another season with Lukaku still on the books and if they can offload him and get Osimhen in return it would be a sensational piece of business.
