‘New meetings today’ – Journalist drops positive Chelsea transfer updates

There will be ‘new meetings today’ for one Chelsea transfer move as a journalist drops some positive updates on the situation and plans today.

A lot is going on with Chelsea right now with a few situations bubbling up. One of the biggest talking points has been the Conor Gallagher situation, with the midfielder returning to the UK today to train with Chelsea U21s whilst the club fumble around trying to sort out a deal for him to join Atletico Madrid.

Sources: The four striker names Chelsea are ‘watching’ this month – Chelsea are looking to bring one striker in before end of window

But perhaps a more exciting story for Chelsea supporters is the situation of Victor Osimhen, with Chelsea clearly being interested in bringing him in this month before the window closes.

Chelsea push for Osimhen

According to our own writer Simon Phillips in his latest updates on his personal Substack site, Chelsea and Napoli are holding new meetings this week regarding Osimhen.

Phillips says: “There is now a new meeting scheduled between Chelsea and Napoli for today/tomorrow that is specifically to speak about Osimhen and whether it can be done. Chelsea will push again and continue back in talks.

“Remember, as we reported here last week, Osimhen is keen on joining Chelsea – that side is not a problem. But that doesn’t mean he will just agree to a big wage drop. This has to suit all parties and there is a lot of negotiating that needs to be done.

“As we also reported and was then confirmed by others, both Didier Drogba and John Obi Mikel have been in the ear of Osimhen AND Chelsea to push them both to get this done!”

  1. Seems like where there’s a will (on both sides) there ought to be away. We all recognize that Lukaku has to be part of the deal to get him off our books and drop the net transfer fee outlay. The wage issue seems like it could be solved if the player is willing to take less guaranteed money in exchange for an incentive-heavy structure. I mean why would we object to paying him 12m if, in order get get the full enchilada, he has to bag 20 non-penalty goals in the league (for example)? Wouldn’t that be worth paying big money for so long as it’s not guaranteed even if he craps the bed?
