(Image) £45m man has chance to achieve something no Chelsea player has since 2017

Cole Palmer has been nominated for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award following his superb season for Chelsea.

Palmer took the Premier League by storm following his move from Manchester City last summer and scored 22 goals and provided 11 assists which saw him named Premier League Young Player of the Year.

The 22-year-old took his fine form onto the international stage this summer and made a big impact for England in the knockout stages of Euro 2024, including scoring the equaliser in the final.

Palmer has raked in a number of individual awards but he could end the season with another one after he was named as one of six nominees for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award which follows on from his nomination for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

The England international is up against former team-mates Phil Foden, Erling Haaland and Rodri, whilst Martin Odegaard and Ollie Watkins are also up for the award.

What makes the award special is that it’s voted for by the fellow players and Palmer has a chance to become the first Chelsea player since N’Golo Kante in 2017 to get his hands on the award.

The winners will be announced on August 20th and it’s hard to not see Palmer walking away with at least one of the awards.
