Chelsea ace sends ominous message ahead of new season which will worry opposition

Cole Palmer has said there’s always room for improvement in an ominous message ahead of the new season as he looks to repeat his feats of the previous campaign.

Palmer took the Premier League by storm last season following his move from Manchester City, scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists, which saw him named Premier league Young Player of the Year.

The 22-year-old took his form onto the international stage and made an impact for England in the knockout rounds culminating with scoring the equaliser against Spain in the final of Euro 2024.

Palmer on there always being room for improvement

Palmer missed Chelsea’s tour of America following his exploits for England but played his first minutes of pre-season in last weekend’s draw against Inter Milan, coming on as a half time substitute.

The task facing the forward this season is can he replicate or get near to what he did last season with opposition now wary of what he can do.

It’s been reported Palmer could play more centrally under Enzo Maresca, although it’s likely he will still feature from the right hand side.

Palmer signed a two year contract extension keeping him at the club until 2033.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports ahead of the new campaign Palmer was asked how he could improve on last season.

“There is always room for improvement. Just trying to maintain it [my form]. If I do maintain it, then it won’t be a bad season,” he said.

“We’ve got an amazing coach, so listen to the coach and he will only help me get better and improve my game. If I listen to him and work hard, I don’t see why not [why I can’t get better].”

Despite having a strong supporting cast featuring the likes of Christopher Nkunku and new signing Pedro Neto it’s likely Chelsea will still be looking to Palmer to produce the goods as they aim to qualify for the Champions League.

The Blues kick off their campaign on Sunday against City at Stamford Bridge and you wouldn’t bet against Palmer making an impact against his former club.
