Ex-Blue urges club to make decision which might leave fans surprised

Former Chelsea player Emmanuel Petit has urged the club to stick with Nicolas Jackson as their first choice striker and admitted he’s worried about a lot of the players.

The Blues have already signed a striker this summer with teenager Marc Guiu arriving from Barcelona, but it’s no secret the club are still looking to strengthen in that area before the window closes.

There have been strong links with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and there could be movement late in the window with Chelsea keen on a loan deal, whilst a move for Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion collapsed.

Petit urges Chelsea to stick with Jackson

For many a top class striker is a major piece of the jigsaw that is still missing from the Chelsea squad and despite all the quality they have in the attacking areas there’s still a lack of a ruthless finisher.

However, former Blue Petit believes the club should stick with Jackson as first choice and is worried what will happen to the 23-year-old if they bring in a top quality striker.

Jackson scored 14 Premier League goals in his debut season.

“I’m worried about a lot of the players, they’re all struggling,” he told Safest Casino.

“If you change Jackson, it will be the same question and story for the next striker. Chelsea need to keep the spine of the team. I have no idea what the club is going to do.”

Jackson impressed in his first season and scored 14 Premier League goals following his arrival from Spanish side Villarreal last summer.

He drew plaudits for his all round play and impressed with both his link up and hold up play, but by his own admission he should have scored more goals.

Jackson has all the attributes to become a top player and if he improves his finishing there’s without doubt a 20 goals a season striker there given the amount of chances he missed.

Bringing another striker in wouldn’t only help Chelsea but it would also help Jackson as some of the pressure would be taken off him and he would have someone to learn from which could hugely benefit his game.
