Victor Osimhen to Chelsea latest: Di Marzio and Romano deliver late night updates

Well, well, well, just as we all expected, the Victor Osimhen to Chelsea transfer saga has gone through to the final two days of the transfer window and to be honest, now looks like it will go through to deadline day on Friday.

It’s all that has been in the news this week and is a major deal that Chelsea are trying to get done. But also, Ah-Ahli are trying to sign him too. One plus point is that it now looks like PSG are completely out of this one, although nobody would rule out a late move from them at this point. It’s a very dramatic transfer story that many fans will just be pleased to see the end of now.

Sources: Chelsea in talks with TWO strikers at this same time ahead of deadline day madness!

Italian reporters Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano both put out some late night updates on the Osimhen situation last night.

Chelsea not offering enough

Osimhen set to decide future

To sum it up, Di Marzio is reporting:

  • Osimhen is open to Al Ahli move
  • They have increased their offer to Napoli
  • They have also was offered Osimhen 30 million euros a year for four years
  • Napoli hope to close with Al Ahli
  • Chelsea’s offer to Osimhen is too low so no agreement

Romano is a bit more positive on it though. As above, he says:

  • Despite Al Ahli offering €25-30m net per season and also release clause, Osimhen is giving Chelsea a chance, they need to make progress in 24 hours. Osimhen is waiting to see if Chelsea can have a creative formula with everything, close to his current Napoli salary
  • It’s completely on Chelsea for Osimhen, forget about everything, it’s all about the salary and Chelsea, they are not giving up and are trying
  • Compared to before, Chelsea will not be signing Osimhen on loan, they would be buying him on some sort of permanent deal
  • Osimhen is waiting; he will have to say soon, Yes I’m coming to you Chelsea this salary is good, or no sorry we can’t make the deal happen
  • Today will be important for Chelsea and Osimhen, they need to make progress if they want it to happen

  1. Can we just be real for a minute?

Does anyone actually think Osimhen is worth completely breaking the bank for??? Cuz that’s what we’re talking about if we’re expecting Chelsea to match 30m Euros a year. That’s just stupid money for anyone not named or Mbappe! We’re talking about a guy who MIGHT bring us marginally more goals (say 5 to, at most, 10) than a rapidly maturing Nicolás Jackson, but we’d be paying him practically double the next most expensive player in the squad (namely, Raheem Sterling, who is on his way out!). What kind of sense does it make to break the entire wage structure for this guy (who hasn’t even bagged 100 club goals yet)?

Somebody make a case based on analytics, cuz, unless we can get him down into the 300k-350k/week range, I just don’t see the logic here.

    1. Can you tell me why Osimhen doesn’t what that amount? is it because he is an Africa guy that you have brought in your racism again? tell me, who among Chesea players that is valuable more than him as at now in the Market. we are talking about a whole continent player of the year here man. if Chelsea can’t pay, he has options.

    2. I don’t think you know what you are saying, every player knows his worth i wish he is an European i don’t think it will take this long. i beg you if Osimhen goes to Chelsea he will be the highest goal scorer if given more playing time and no injuries. Osimhen is a born baller only we don’t appreciate what we have until we loose it.

    3. Are you okay up there bro..well he’s African so expect you to say this ..go check stats bro..fastest players to reach a 100 club career goals bros number in Africa..bro reached a 100 goal faster than Messi even in lesser matches ..bro gave Napoli a scudeto after 30years scoring in their last two games …African player of the year!! Bro was ranked 8th in balondor last year hingesst mildstone for any Nigerian osimhen has 200+ career goals at age 25 and you’re saying he doesn’t deserve that salary ..y’all should just stop this maginalisatoin on Africa man ..let’s be real Chelsea are not just comfortable paying an African player that amount . Remember to always check stats before saying trash !! Don’t come here and say rubbish about a player if he wasn’t worth it Chelsea would have dropped ffrom the race a long time ago

    4. Honestly mate. I don’t think so, am a Nigerian and support Chelsea fc. I dnrk ow why the Chelsea hierarchy are not looking elsewhere. I think I will pick Viktor gykores ahead of oshimen in a heartbeat. But I think those in charge of players signings are one way in their approach. This gykores of a guy would fit in the way Enzo maresca wants to play

  2. Osimhen is a very good striker and if chelsea were comfortable paying 50 million for Sterling and his high salary then this one must not be a problem whatsoever.

  3. Honestly I don’t know why We delaying this deal. The Guy Loves Chelsea naturally, I even heard he was even a blues fan growing up, that will give him more enthusiasm to take our beloved team to the next level of domestic and European football with the quality of amazing players We are blessed with right now. He can definitely have the impact players like Haaland, Kane give because he’s in that A strikers and the best available in this window. Please come on Chelsea Family boards of directors

  4. I think osimhen is worth it. What he has done at napoli so far is quite impressive.
Despite saudi offers, he wants to stay at europe and offering a chance to chelsea. They will likely break their bank in the deadline day. !!

  5. Honestly, this is a dicey kind of situation. CFC are in dire need of a recognised world striker to compliment the efforts of the midfielders. However, the board should always be proactive and secure players base on basic needs not just buying any kind of players available in the market. We must always recruit on priority basis.

Having sizable quality players around is much better than a crowded dressing room with below average lads. Get Victor or any other better striker to help blues compete strongly.

  7. I think Chelsea must be favourites to land this electro magnetic striker. Salary shouldn’t be a barrier chele. Offer this guy he will provide us with results much needed to fight for premier league victory. Well done management. Fan we are here for full support

  8. Toney is a gud striker but for Chelsea to take him is just the same as they shld continue with Jackson. I think the club shld look elsewhere rather than in the premier lig. A host of Chelsea players are French and Portuguese. If they pick injuries on international duty, the whole team remain imbalanced to take on with matches
