Perhaps the most stark stat comes within just seconds of the video – Chelsea have a squad of 45 or 46 first team players depending on who you include.
They want to get that down to a squad of 25 or 25, which is traditionally the numbers that a coach works with.
That means they have just 3 weeks to loan, sell or demote a full TWENTY players. And that’s before you even start to think about other players coming in… That means a player going almost every day from now until the transfer deadline.
It’s actually comical to hear some of the names being reeled off here. Some positions are so crowded with desperately average options.

For just once could SuperFrank be a bit less hyperbolic. He’s forever coming up with this sort of breathless, worst-case scenario reporting where he overstates the case in order to try and stir controversy (and drive clicks). This is a perfect example.
Take the SEVEN goalkeepers on this list. Anyone who pays attention to the club knows that Beach and Bergstrom aren’t even remotely in contention for a first team slot and that Bettinelli will be sacrificed if they can’t move Petrovic before the close of the transfer window. Yes, we still need to sell Kepa, but it’s quite clear that, aside from that, the only real drama at that position is whether Sanchez or Jorgensen will start the season between the sticks. Translation, the “seven” keeper problem SuperFrank presents is grossly overstated.
The same is true of most of the other positions where we can easily name the players who will be shipped off to Strasbourg or the Championship in the next week or two. Heck, Gilchrist has already sealed a deal with Sheffield and yet he’s still pictured here. Hyperbole. Hyperbole. Hyperbole.
