Enzo Maresca is impressing with his media duties at the moment – he’s pretty bluff and straightforward, but he gets to the point and doesn’t mince his words.
Today he was very deliberate with what he did when given the chance by a question about how good Noni Madueke was. He immediately turned it into a session of praise of the winger’s work rate, then pointed out that he needed the whole team to work like that.
This is very clearly his target for improving Madueke specifically, and it seems he thinks there’s a few other low effort individuals in there too. He might just be the guy to shake it out of them, and then we really will be impoved.
