(Video): Todd Boehly lasts 85 minutes of Chelsea’s season before walking out

With just 85 minutes on the clock, Todd Boehly had seen enough. He left his box with Chelsea now 2-0 down to Man City. Of course, the cameras caught him.

As the Tweeter wrote, “off to buy Joao Felix and Victor Osimhen.”

Or as someone else put it: “they created this, they should sit and watch every second.”

Ouch. To be fair, if you can’t make it to full time of the first game of the season… do you really care? What sort of message does this send to your fans and your team?

You can see the moment in the clips embedded here:

  1. Leave it to SuperFrank…. he never misses a chance to scapegoat and American.

The fact of the matter is that the squad looked pretty good going up against the defending champions. Considering the manager has only had a matter of weeks with the group and that close to half of them have scarcely played with one another (either through injury or because they are new additions), they looked relatively organized in defence and played with a sense of purpose in possession that I honestly didn’t expect to see in Week 1. You can take cheap shots at Boehly all you like, but you have to be a serious cynic not to feel pretty good about this squad. I’d still like to see Sanchez moved to the bench in favor of someone with better distribution, but the outfield X all looked pretty sharp (and will only improve their understanding with one another if they can manage to stay injury free).
