Enzo Maresca could easily have slammed his Chelsea team tonight after a 2-1 loss to Servette. But instead he started his presser praising them.
He said that in the first half an hour they were “unbelievable”, and had only fallen apart because they conceded that first goal.
There certainly were some nice passages of play in that opening phase, but it doesn’t come off great to praise your team too much after they’ve lost in a UEFA Europa Conference League qualifier. Still, win on Sunday and nobody will think about this game much ever again.
