Chelsea’s owners reportedly tried to re-sign a player last season who they had been ‘very happy’ with despite his up and down time at the club.
And now, Chelsea are working on a deal to re-sign this same player once again.

The Blues are trying to sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid after the Samu Omorodion deal broke down at the final hour.
This had basically been heavily reported as being a done deal, but it’s now collapsed and will not be happening. Chelsea still need to sign a player from Atletico for the Conor Gallagher deal to go through, and it looks like that might be Felix.

Manager at the time Mauricio Pochettino apparently said no to Felix last season, according to Fabrizio Romano on his latest Playback show. He said:
“Chelsea owners and directors were very happy with Joao Felix when he was at Chelsea but the deal never happened because they backed Mauricio Pochettino, who didn’t want him.”
