The rumours about Chelsea signing Victor Osimhen had the ESPN pundits including Shaka Hislop asking whether we could be a contender for the top four if we sign him. As he says, adding a quality striker would certainly help our chances. “Yes” Chelsea would be… a contender, Shaka agreed.
But in answering the question the pundits quickly got speaking about Aston Villa, and that’s our real problem here. Chelsea can be better this season than last (and there’s no guarantee of that) and that doesn’t mean they’ll make it. Man City, Man U, Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Newcastle… we’ll have to be better than FIVE of them if we want to be in the Champions League.
