Andrey Santos has made a brilliant start to life on loan at Strasbourg and his form has been recognised as he was named Ligue 1 Young Player of the Month.

The midfielder arrived at Chelsea in a deal worth a reported £13m from Brazilian side Vasco da Gama in January 2023, but spent the rest of the season back on loan in Brazil.

Santos made an impression in pre-season under Mauricio Pochettino but was sent on loan to Nottingham Forest, which turned out to be a disaster as he barely kicked a ball.

The 20-year-old was recalled in January and sent on loan to sister club Strasbourg where after a slow start he found his feet and made an impact.

The decision was taken to send him back to the French outfit this season and Santos has made a brilliant start to life back in France and has two goals in two Ligue 1 game this season, taking his total to three in his last four for the club.

His brilliant start to the season has seen him named Ligue 1 Young Player of the Month and both Chelsea and Strasbourg will be hoping he keeps this form up for the rest of season.

If Santos can do that then it seems he could be set for a big future at Chelsea, with the club believed to rate the Brazilian highly.
